先日、新しく契約した楽天モバイルのポケットWiFiの通信速度を測定してみました。
結果は？
2022年8月15日（月）は受信27.2Mbps、送信0.6Mbpsなので許容範囲の速度です。
しかし、問題は8月18日（木）の通信速度。
受信4.5Mbps、送信0.2Mbpsというほとんど「3G」回線みたいな速度になっています。
何かの間違いかな？とfast.comで速度を計測してみたところ、もっと遅くて計測が完了しませんでした。
もしかすると楽天モバイルの速度計測は水増ししているのでは？と何やら勘繰ってしまいます。
昼休み終わりと夕方で時間帯の違いはあるにしても安定感に欠ける結果でした。
普段は自宅のWiFiを使っており、電波の届きにくい時のための補助として使っているので問題はありませんが。
楽天のポケットWiFiと楽天モバイルの端末というコンビで外出するのは、ちょっと不安かもしれませんね。
やはりmineoのSIMは必要かなー？と悩み中です。

The result of measuring the communication speed of Rakuten Mobile’s pocket WiFi
The other day, I measured the communication speed of the newly contracted Rakuten Mobile Pocket WiFi.
Result is?
On August 15, 2022 (Monday), the reception speed was 272.Mbps and the transmission speed was 0.6Mbps, which is within the acceptable range.
However, the problem is the communication speed on Thursday, August 18th.
4.5 Mbps for reception and 0.2 Mbps for transmission, which is almost like a “3G” line.
Is there something wrong? When I measured the speed with fast.com, it was slower and the measurement was not completed.
Perhaps Rakuten Mobile’s speed measurement is inflated? I guess something.
Even though there was a difference in the time zone between the end of the lunch break and the evening, the results lacked a sense of stability.
I usually use my home WiFi, and I use it as a supplement for times when radio waves are hard to reach, so there is no problem.
It may be a little uneasy to go out with a combination of Rakuten’s pocket WiFi and Rakuten mobile terminal.
Do I still need a mineo SIM? I’m in trouble.
